Volunteering at Brooke Furmstone

On the 28th of October we visited Brooke Furmstone, which is Red Kite residential housing. Whilst we were there we helped by weeding in their communal gardens and sweeping up the leaves that had become present on the footpaths surrounding their housing.

Even though the weeding was not the most enjoyable thing to do, it was great seeing what we had achieved once we had finished. It was also nice when we saw how the happy the residents were with the work we had done. The residents were extremely nice, they supplied us with refreshments and we had a great time whilst on a break. Talking about things we enjoyed and getting to know one and other.

Sweeping the leaves was a nice end to the day because we have a lot of experience with that so it was very easy to do. we also enjoyed taking photos of us doing the different jobs and throwing the leaves in the air to get good action shots. Everybody had a great time today and we are very thankful to the residents there for letting us come and help them, we hope to see you soon.
